Well, today is the day I’ve been waiting for most of my life…my book is officially PUBLISHED!
I have plans to spend the day alternating between relaxing, celebrating and generally buzzing about it on social media so I’ll keep this post short.
If my ramblings over the last year and a half have intrigued you and you’d like to read The Disappeared, I’ve got a copy to give away. And not only that, the lovely folks over at Legend Press have generously donated two of their recent releases to make this a proper dystopian giveaway.
So you could be in with a chance of winning the following books:
The Disappeared, by Amy Lord
What if reading the wrong book could get you arrested?
In a decaying city controlled by the First General and his army, expressing the wrong opinion can have terrible consequences. Clara Winter knows this better than anyone. When she was a child, her father was taken by the Authorisation Bureau for the crime of teaching banned books to his students. She is still haunted by his disappearance.
Now Clara teaches at the same university, determined to rebel against the regime that cost her family so much – and her weapons are the banned books her father left behind. But she has started something dangerous, something that brings her to the attention of the Authorisation Bureau and its most feared interrogator, Major Jackson. The same man who arrested Clara’s father.
With her rights stripped away, in a country where democracy has been replaced with something more sinister, will she be the next one to disappear?
Asylum, by Marcus Low
Barry James is detained in a quarantine facility in the blistering heat of the Great Karoo.
Here he exists in two worlds: the unforgiving reality of his incarceration and the lyrical landscapes of his dreams. He has cut all ties with his previous life, his health is failing, and he has given up all hope. All he has to cling to are the meanderings of his restless mind, the daily round of pills and the journals he reluctantly keeps as testimony to a life once lived.
And then there’s an opportunity to escape.
Skin, by Liam Brown
Skin is a brilliant dystopian novel about a strange virus sweeping the globe. Humans have become allergic to one another. Simply standing next to somebody could be a death sentence. A kiss could be fatal.
Celia Anderson commented about the book ‘If Brave New World and 1984 were combined and whisked into this century, they couldn’t be more impressive than Liam Brown’s superb story.’
Enter below to be in with a chance of winning (UK only). And you can always grab a copy of the book on Amazon or Waterstones!
